(AMEBVS) Astha Mahila Bal Vikas Sansthan is a social development organization, working in the field since 2007. It was registered under Society Act 1860 Sec 21 in 2014. ASTHA is a non-profit organization helping victims and survivors of sex trafficking, human trafficking, domestic servitude, and child abuse in Uttar Pradesh and at the Indo-Nepal border by researching, analyzing, addressing, and then implementing ideas. The organization’s genesis was policy advocacy for every individual’s rights in society. The working area of the organization is Varanasi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, and the Indo-Nepal Border. As the organization’s aim is to fight against modern slavery with different tools of research, and according to the facts of the study, the Organisation coordinates with varying levels of government officials and frontline workers, and various developmental programs are organized. AMBVS established itself as a unique, credible, and pioneering organization in the field of Rights & Justice for poor & downtrodden marginalized (Dalit) people, children, and women, through social advocacy, emerged as a new generation NGO aiming to be self-reliant.

VISSION:

Astha organization’s vision is to fight against modern slavery with different tools of research, and according to the facts of the research, Astha organization in coordination with varying levels of government officials and frontline workers, different developmental programs are organized.

MISSION:

To increase awareness amongst the community on child rights law in order to increase reporting of child rights violations so that children can get access to justice. To sensitize law enforcement agencies on child-centric legislation so that they ensure effective implementation of child-centric legislation. To map child-centric schemes and identify beneficiaries amongst the Community and link them with social protection schemes in order to robust them economically. To increase public awareness and prevention of modern slavery by research tools and through laws. To support victims and survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, and work collaboratively with various organizations, government officials, and society. To empower the people, especially the underprivileged sections of society – the Mushahar/ Dalits, Women, and Children through the process of capacity building, forming self-managed organizations and collective actions which would catalyze socio-economic-political growth, self-reliance, justice, dignity, and gender-just society for all.

Objectives of the Organization-

  • To increase the livelihood opportunities among the deprived, small and marginalized sections of the community through income generation programs.
  • To enhance the capacity of socially excluded communities & the people in the area so that they can demand & access the entitlements meant for them.
  • To make service providers more responsive & more accountable to socially excluded groups.
  • To promote Dalit / Musahars women’s leadership to address the issue of social justice.
  • To generate awareness in the community on the health of Women and Children and on the prevention and cure of Life-threatening waterborne diseases spread through Mosquitoes like Encephalitis.
  • Create a public understanding of the situation of Dalits / Musahar and their right to equality.
  • To promote quality education among marginalized children.
  • To promote quality education and child rights among marginalized children.
  • To facilitate access to basic education for children of school age.
  • To maintain/improve the overall physical and mental health of children.
  • To provide extracurricular activities in order to build the social skills of children.
  • To enhance the access of the community to the welfare schemes of the Government.
  • To work for dignity, and equality, and ensure their access to resources.
  • To eradicate untouchability, social discrimination, and caste-based atrocities, with a special focus on Dalit / Musahar women.
  • To create mass awareness in the community for abolishing discrimination due to Gender.
  • To create awareness in the community on various important legal aspects.
